On the other hand there are plenty of areas you can’t access the first time through. I played a bit of new game+ so far and it’s easy to shred at the beginning, but the levels can be a bit taxing to replay (or just explore for missed items) due to their length. Going in I was worried this would be super anime cringe but it was more cartoony. Surprisingly decent story, and good voice acting. I liked this a lot, and the art style and direction was incredible. A game with music at its heart should be fast paced and fun, not have long repetitive levels.įinished. It's a solid game, I totally get why some people love it and If they make a sequel I'd really appreciate better level design with some thought into making them about 30 minutes long rather than an hour or so they were taking me (pre button mashing). Though I did hear the opening to Whirring and thought it was YOLO by The Lonely Island which I genuinely thought would have been a great track for the game! □ The general level music started off well but I was bored of it by the end and hungry for more of the licensed tracks. Thankfully things start to pick up pace again in the final stages and had one very memorable boss battle. Have to say, I found the middle levels of the game to be overly long and such a drag, if I wasn't so determined to hear Invaders Must Die and Perfect Drug I'd have dropped the game again. Total game changer for me, especially after I added chips for faster cooldowns. I love the art style, the concept and some the tracks were fantastic choices but I dropped it as soon as the samurai enemies arrived and the game started repeatedly halting the action so I could fail at the parry mini-games again and again.ĭecided to go back to it a few days ago, whacked the difficulty down to easy, added a health chip or two and realised that combat became a lot faster and easier if I just smashed X, LT and RT at the same time, occasionally pressing the bumper button if an enemy was too far away. Started playing this the night it dropped but only completed it tonight.
